D‑Link expands industrial Ethernet range with new Fast Ethernet Industrial Switches
The all new entry‑level, ruggedised and unmanaged switches offer plug‑and‑play installation for smart city, factory automation and Industry 4.0 applications

D-Link, the multinational networking equipment manufacturer, has announced the availability of its latest range of robust, highly reliable switches; the DIS-100E Series Industrial Fast Ethernet Unmanaged Switches. The range includes the DIS-100E-5W with five 10/100BaseT(X) ports, and the DIS-100E-8W, which features eight 10/100BaseT(X) ports.
These new switches have been engineered to support the increasing demand for industrial automation, smart city infrastructure and the adoption of Industry 4.0 techniques by customers such as local authorities, transport operators and manufacturers.
This series of entry-level industrial of switches was created with simplicity of installation in mind to deliver long service with low maintenance requirements.
The DIS-100E Series switches feature DIN-rail mounting ability and provide 5 or 8 Fast Ethernet ports, supporting standard industrial applications without complex setup.
The DIS-100E Series has superior environmental specification compared to those of commercial network switches, designed specifically to withstand a wide temperature range (-40°to 75°C), vibrations and shock. This makes the switches ideal for outdoor deployment in curb-side compartments, whether in a cold or hot environment.
Customers can ensure network uptime through the switches’ redundant power input, whilst a power alarm relay output enables the operators to be notified of the power supply failure.
The DIS-100E Series is the latest addition to D-Link’s Industrial Ethernet range. This ruggedised range includes both unmanaged and managed Gigabit switches with a variety of port configurations, intelligent Quality of Service and advanced security, and supports fast network recovery under 20ms to reduce downtime.
